Buttock Augmentation, (Also referred to as Buttock Implants or Buttock Reshaping ) uses implants, fat grafting or sometimes a combination of both to increase the size of your buttocks. Brazilian Butt Lift transfers fat by liposuction of one area and transferring this to the buttocks. These procedures can:
- Increase fullness, roundness and projection of your buttock
- Improve the balance of your figure
- Enhance your self-image and self-confidence
Buttock augmentation surgery is right for someone who does not like the shape of their buttock or is looking to balance their body.
Apart from the general risks of surgery, risks associated with these procedures include:
- Excessive loss of blood.
- Blood clots.
- Bruising.
- Deep vein thrombosis, cardiac and pulmonary complications.
- Possibility of revisional surgery.
- Numbness and pain.
- Fat embolism, injection of fat into the bloodstream that causes inflammation in the lungs.
- Infection.
Post-operatively you should avoid sitting directly on buttocks for at least two weeks to help survival of transplanted fat cells. Sitting with a pillow placed under your thighs and another one across your lower back will prevent any weight directly on the buttocks. Do not lie on your back for three weeks, lay on your sides or front. Massage is very important. It helps reduce swelling and promotes healing. This can be started as soon as it is comfortable.
